Westerly winds of 35 to 45 mph gusting to 65 will affect the higher elevations of the Davis Mountains this afternoon. A High Wind Warning is in effect for both mountain ranges today. Windy conditions may spread across the adjacent southeast New Mexico plains this afternoon with west winds increasing to 30 mph. Dry fuels across West Texas today, along with west winds generally in the 15 to 20 mph range, will promote the rapid growth and spread of any fires that may start.
